Prophylaxis Cannula

An innovation from Dürr Dental.

Dürr Dental has developed the prophylaxis cannula for maximum protection against aerosols, larger particles and spray powder. Its special protective shield on the
cannula tip makes it unique, as it can be rotated and fixed as required. This provides a level of suction that far exceeds what conventional cannulas can achieve.

Maximum precision in suctioning

Significantly higher aerosol uptake than conventional suction cannulas.
Germ-laden aerosol is reduced by up to 100% in the patient’s mouth (based on in-house tests with a suction volume of 300 l/min).

Prevents irritation of the mucous membranes due to jet powder

Thanks to the targeted focusing of the cannula in the mouth, the powder flow can be accurately directed at the teeth and aspirated – thus providing optimum protection for the oral mucosa.

Best protection for preserving / prosthetic treatments

Due to its large opening, the prophylaxis cannula is particularly advantageous for suctioning larger particles or a higher volume of water, as well as for rubber dam applications.
